NBN applications are now being accepted for those that are located in the first release areas in Townsville, Armidale, Brunswick, Minnumurra, Kiama Downs and Willunga.

IS currently have a number of existing customers connected and trialling the NBN in the first release areas. 

 

The NBN trial finishes at the end of September 2011 and residences and businesses are now being urged to select their preferred NBN package above. It is expected that connections may become delayed due to initial demand for the NBN services and applications will be processed in the order that they are received. IS Trial Offer

Eligible customers received a high speed IS 'NBN' broadband service, with a line speed of 12/1 Mbps and a monthly quota of 20Gb. There was no establishment charge, and the standard monthly rental charges were waived for the first three months for those on the trial! 

 

Trial participants existing copper phone lines and ADSL services are not being removed and will remain active until the end of the trial period and such time as you decide to continue to use the NBN service or remain on your previous service.  

All NBN trial services will be offered without a contractual term and on a limited basis.

Approximately 3100 premises in the western suburbs of Townsville will be in the NBN fibre rollout area. Covering parts of the suburbs of Aitkenvale and Mundingburra, the area is bounded by Ross River Road, China Street, the Ross River and the Bruce Highway/Nathan Street.
